Ideas Into Action graduate Egeba Ine Duke, is the founder of EmpowerHer Life CIC.
Ideas Into Action is a groundbreaking Result CIC programme in partnership with TERN, working with people from a refugee background who live in the UK to help them develop their own social enterprises and non-profits. It provides specialist support including workshops, professional coaching, business, marketing and fundraising information and skills training, as well presenting, holding and staging public-facing events.
In February this year, 20 women living in Oldham attended an EmpowerHer Life workshop, c0-hosted by both Ine and Dr. Nida, a gynecologist, who delivered the workshop in Punjabi, with occasional interpretation as needed.

In today's blog, Ine writes about her organisation - there’s also news of an event happening this month.
‘My name is Egeba Ine Duke, and I am the founder of EmpowerHer Life, a social enterprise dedicated to raising awareness and providing education on female reproductive health. Our mission is to bridge the gap in support and understanding for women facing conditions such as Fibroids, Adenomyosis, and Endometriosis. My own experience with these conditions exposed a significant lack of awareness and resources, which led to the creation of EmpowerHer Life. We are committed to ensuring these health issues receive the attention and care they deserve.
What We Do
At EmpowerHer Life, we focus on developing educational resources and community outreach programmes to empower women with essential knowledge and support. We strive to amplify public health messages through both digital and in-person initiatives, ensuring they reach the communities most affected.
Our key initiatives include:
- Regular Workshops – Hosting interactive sessions to educate women about reproductive health and potential health risks.
- Advocacy for Early Diagnosis – Campaigning for more routine diagnostic screenings to enable early intervention and reduce the need for invasive treatments.
- Policy Recognition – Working towards ensuring that female reproductive health conditions receive higher priority within primary healthcare services.
- Fighting Stigma – Challenging misconceptions and breaking the silence surrounding women’s reproductive health issues.
- Providing Essential Sanitary Products – Supporting underserved communities, including homeless women, immigrants, and minority groups, by ensuring access to hygienic menstrual products.
Our ultimate goal is to create a world where women feel heard, supported, and empowered in managing their reproductive health.’
If you’re interested in finding out more about EmpowerHer Life and would like to participate in the next workshop, an online event for women is taking place on Saturday 8 March at 8pm.
Ine will be joined by Makeda Hemans, a Naturopathic Medical Herbalist and Colon hydrotherapist, for ‘How herbs can help with reproductive issues like Endometriosis and Fibroids.’
