Personal Leadership Pathway: a pilot development module for disabled students We designed and delivered an innovative interactive module 3-hour workshop for which students prepared by self-assessing their confidence and skills as Disabled leaders. Topics include how to boost self-confidence, increase self-awareness and gain a stronger sense of how disability and leadership combine and reinforce each other.

Two of Result CIC’s Directors worked face-to-face with the student group. Students completed the pre-workshop 1-page self-assessment. Discussion of Disabled leadership, centred on the importance of openness, expression and dealing with responses to ‘you and your disability’ – plus seeing vulnerability as a strength. We also covered: barriers to leadership, and techniques for overcoming them, and discussion around the direction participants would like to be heading as Leaders.
