Having worked with people living with disability or long-term illness for many years as Result Coaching, I founded the CIC (community interest company) in 2012 with Hormoz. I played a significant role in developing the company into the thriving social enterprise it currently is. In 2017 I stepped down as an Executive Director, taking the role of Director Emeritus and I remain committed to and actively involved in delivery work.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching from The Coaching Academy, and I am a qualified NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Practitioner. Since qualifying, I have delivered approaching 2000 hours of 1 - 1 coaching to a range of business owners, managers, employees, charity service users other individuals.
I hold a B.Sc. in Physics from Durham University and am a Chartered Electrical Engineer. Before coming to coaching I spent a large part of my working life in industry including positions with Sales, Technical and Quality management responsibility. I have previously been employed by Swindon College and by Oxfordshire County Council to deliver computer literacy training to disadvantaged adults, and done voluntary work at the Swindon Foyer, a housing and personal development project for socially excluded teenagers.
I do voluntary work for three HIV support charities. Since 2005 I have been a trustee of, including 8 years as Chair of, HiVitality (formerly the National Long-Term Survivors Group), a national charity supporting people living with HIV. I am treasurer of Positive Steps NW, a charity supporting gay men living with HIV in the NW of England. I act as a Key Worker for CHIVA (children's HIV Association) supporting young people at summer camp.
I have been living with HIV for over 35 years. I have had periods of severe ill health and unemployment and have witnessed what discrimination can do to people’s lives. I draw on my own personal experiences to try to help others find their path through theirs.
