I'm a BACP - Accredited Therapist working alongside Result CIC. Sometimes coaching sessions can bring up issues that might be beneficial to work through in a safe and supportive therapeutic space. I'm here to provide that service. I' m experienced working with a wide range of issues including processing trauma, tackling unhelpful behaviours or habits, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and much more.
I'm a BACP-accredited therapist with a 1st class master's degree in Counselling from The University of Manchester. I have over 10 years of experience working in a wide range of different settings including my own private therapy practice, services for young people, the LGBT+ community and prisons. I am an “ integrative ” therapist, which means that I use a range of different therapeutic models, depending on the person I'm working with and the nature of the issues they're bringing. I'm a firm believer that the therapy model should fit around the individual person and not the other way around. We all have preferred ways of relating and communicating, and different lenses for experiencing the world. My job is to understand yours and work in whatever way is most helpful to you. Below are some of the areas I'm experienced working in, (but this is not a comprehensive list):
- Anxiety and worry
- OCD
- Depression
- Trauma and PTSD symptoms
- The impact of sexual abuse, rape or assault
- LGBT+
- Self-esteem and identity issues
- Relationship difficulties
- Mindfulness
- Sexual issues
- Clients escaping persecution, prejudice or torture in their country of origin
- Difficulties with drugs and alcohol
- Chemsex
I am a sex/kink-positive therapist and welcome clients with disabilities, neurodiverse clients, all genders, sexualities, ethnicities and ages. I believe that everyone has the right to express themselves in whatever way feels authentic and meaningful to them.
To me, being 'confidently different' means making choices closely informed by my most precious values, not based on what others expect of me or think is good for me. There are so many pressures and distractions in life that try to blow us off course. But authentically and consciously knowing my core values is the anchor that helps me to be different with confidence.
