Our programmes

Every person and organisation is different, so our programmes are tailored to what you or your organisation needs.

Result is led by people with our own lived experience of marginalisation based on disability, racism and sexuality, so we create an open and safe space in which to learn and share experiences and ideas. Because of this we have devised several programmes of training and coaching working with disabled people, people with lived experience of racism, LGBT+ people, and organisation whcih represent or work with these communities.

As experienced coaches, we bring an ethos to all our work of ‘ask, don’t tell’. We believe that you know the best approach for yourself and our job is to bring that out. All of our work starts with a conversation, so please do Contact Us to discuss your specific needs.

Ideas Into Action: programme case study 1

Ideas into Action is a three-year programme that supports people from a refugee background who live in the UK to develop their own social enterprises and non-profits. It provides specialist support including workshops, professional coaching, business, marketing and fundraising information and skills training, as well as public-facing events. Ten refugee entrepreneurs took part in this first programme, with the cohort doubling in consecutive years.

We work with partners TERN, SEUK and the programme is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

100% of year one participants said that they would highly recommend it to others and that the programme helped them get closer to achieving their professional goals.

Level Best: programme case study 2

'The programme has been invaluable and I feel truly privileged to have been a part of it.'

Level Best was a programme of workshops and coaching for people with lived experience of racism and/or who are disabled.

We ran the first Level Best programme for 12 people from January to March 2021. This video shares the experiences of some of the participants.

Level Best was about boosting participants’ ‘confidence and contacts’. It consisted of 3 workshops, 3 individual coaching sessions and 3 masterclasses. It was aimed at people who experience racism and/or people with disabilities and it sets aside several places for individuals who did not have work. It was facilitated by people with the same lived experience.

Benefits for particpants:

  • get time in an open, mutually supportive group and via 1:1 coaching, to explore who you are and what you personally need to do to feel happier, more confident and to develop.
  • learn new things about yourself, your motivation and how you can make the most of your abilities and skills.
  • understand how your differences are part of your personal strength and how they can be powerful.
  • become part of a new network to support yourself and others in the future.
  • gain perspective about yourself at a time of upheaval and change, learning what and how you can contribute.
  • develop greater personal resilience in handling challenges now and in the future.

DELTA: programme case study 3

DELTA stands for 'disability empowers leadership talent'. It is a personal and professional accelerated development scheme which Result delivers for the UK's Civil Service.

Civil Servants on the highly competitive Future Leadership Scheme (FLS) at the grades (7 or 6) just beneath the Senior Civil Service (SCS) who live with a disability or long-term health condition, can join DELTA. By August 2023 over 120 civil servants had taken part in DELTA. It offers 4 full-day workshops and 4 individual coaching sessions as well as specialist internal support from the Leadership College for Government. All Result's DELTA workshop facilitators and coaches have lived experience of disability or a long-term health condition themselves.

DELTA graduates have experienced a range of positive outcomes from the programme including promotion, career progression, improved physical and mental health and reduced isolation as disabled civil servants with a stronger greater sense of being part of a supportive network of colleagues.
