It's great to be recognised for the work that we do.Over the years Result has been honoured with several awards for our work in equity, diversity, inclusion and more.
2015: National Diversity Award for best community organisation doing multi-strand diversity work. As a then only 3-year-old social enterprise, Result was honoured to be even shortlisted for this competitive and prestigious national award. The process involved seeking support for our nomination which was made by Dr Hamied Haroon of the University of Manchester.
2015: Co-Director, Jane Cordell was honoured to be cited in the Power 100 list of the UK’s most influential disabled people issued by the national charity, Shaw Trust. 2017: Manchester City Council Our Manchester Women’s Business Award to Jane Cordell. This was presented by multi-medal-winning athlete, Diane Modhal in a glittering ceremony at Manchester’s historic town hall. 2017: Co-Director was cited for the second time in the Power 100 list of the UK’s most influential disabled people issued by Shaw Trust. 2018: Liverpool John Moores University conferred an Honorary Fellowship on Jane Cordell in recognition of her ‘outstanding contribution to disabled rights and promotion’. This is the University’s highest award. It was presented at a graduation ceremony by the University’s Chancellor, Sir Brian Leveson at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral. In her short address, Jane outlined her vision for the ’new normal’ society needs to envision to empower everyone to reach their potential, including disabled people. 2019: Still I Rise - Hormoz Ahmadzadeh featured in an exhibition by award-winning photographer Allie Crewe and Salford Integrated Care Partnership celebrating Black, Asian and global majority culture in Salford. 2022: National Association of Deafened People (NADP), Hearing Link and Hi Kent presented The Heather Jackson Award to Jane Cordell. The award is made annually to a deafened person who has made a significant contribution to the improvement of the welfare and opportunity of deafened people, and to enhancing positive relationships between deafened and hearing people. Heather Jackson was a brilliant leader and tireless activist for deafened peoples rights and the three charities which make the award are the ones with which Heather was closely associated before her untimely death in 2008. 2024: Still I Rise 2 - Jane Cordell featured in Allie Crewe's continuation of her previous exhibition, here concentrating on positive images of Disabled people in Salford. 2024: KPMG Excellence in Learning award from the company’s Learning Consortium for 5 consecutive years of the DELTA (Disability Empowers Talent) award delivered for civil servants on the Future Leadership Scheme who are disabled or live with a long-term health condition. The shortlist included Coventry University and the citation noted the ‘transformational’ impact of the programme.
